Objectives: Wise leadership in the university seeks to create a positive organizational culture and a healthy environment where all members feel valued and decisions and policies are made based on knowledge, experience and detailed analysis. Therefore, the current research was conducted with the aim of designing and validating the wise leadership model in Isfahan University using a grounded theory approach.
Materials and Methods: The method of conducting the present research is a mixed research approach (qualitative-quantitative) with an exploratory design. The field of research in the qualitative part was based on semi-structured exploratory interviews with experts from Isfahan University. The participants in the qualitative part included 11 experts in the field of academic management and faculty members at the University of Isfahan, who were selected from the purposeful non-probability sampling method using the theoretical sampling method. In the quantitative part, the statistical population included 675 managers and faculty members of the University of Isfahan, who were selected using a stratified sampling method proportional to the size of the faculties. The Morgan table was used to determine the sample size, 246 people were obtained. Due the two-part nature of the research (qualitative and quantitative), the validity and reliability of the research instruments were also discussed in two parts, so that in the qualitative part, the criteria of capability (Guba and Lincoln, 2005) were used to measure the validity of qualitative data, and they were approved in terms of validity, transferability, reliability, and confirmability. Also, to calculate the reliability in this part, five interviews were selected as a sample, and then each of them was re-conducted and coded at a specific time interval, and then the specified codes were compared at time intervals. The test-retest reliability of the conducted interviews was calculated to be 0.84, which shows the reliability of coding. In the quantitative part, content validity methods, convergent validity, and divergent validity tests were used to measure validity; also, Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used to measure the reliability. The method of data analysis in the qualitative part was the theme analysis method; in the quantitative part, the information in the questionnaires was coded and analyzed using statistical software SPSS and Smart PLS, in two descriptive and inferential parts. In addition, the level of significance in research hypotheses (0.1 & 0.5) has been considered.
Discussion and Conclusions: The findings of the research in the qualitative section of 413 open codes were extracted from the interviews. After the central and selective coding, the 6 dimension of the paradigm pattern includes: the components of the rational leadership (12 categories), the appropriate context and context (7 categories), the causal factors (9 categories), the factors (8), wise (9 categories) and finally based on them, a wise leadership paradigm model was designed and presented for Isfahan University. The findings were tested and examined in the quantitative part of the design of the model with the utilization of the factor analysis of the narrative (convergence, divergent) and reliability (Cronbach's alpha coefficient, compound reliability). Both narratives and reliability of observable variables (all agents above 0.4), Cronbach's alpha (0.924), and compound reliability (0.927) were confirmed. The results of the operating analysis showed the favorable fit of each of the items with factors and showed that each of the factors has a good factor load to predict the original dimensions of the pattern, and as a result, the designed model has high validity and reliability and is capable of measuring wise leadership at the University of Isfahan. Therefore, wise leadership as a pure managerial model can be effective in the movement of universities, especially the University of Isfahan, towards the fourth and fifth generations.
