Abstract

Objectives: The current research was conducted to locate educational centers based on the main components of the strategic components of the educational system in one district of Kerman and predict the student population to 2031.
Materials and Methods: The research method was descriptive-analytical and pre-population in the form of trend finding. The data was collected using the field method and using the synchronous system in education. The data and the necessary maps were extracted through AUTOCAD and ARCGIS software. The scope of the study was public schools of the first district of Kerman in 2021.
Discussion and Conclusions: The findings of the research showed that in the interviews with the assistants and educational experts, the main components in orientation for locating include migration, marginalization, growth and development of settlements, special schools, increase of technical schools compared to theoretical ones, educational coverage, accessing to school, compatibility with neighboring users and class density. Also, the student population in the elementary school of one district of Kerman in 2031 will face a relative decrease compared to the basic year of 2021; in the first period of high school, theoretical, technical, and professional high school courses, there would be a relative increase in the student population. In locating, and using the strategic components of the educational system, buffering, map calculator, and union in the GIS environment which is necessary to build the relevant schools in these areas in 2031. The results obtained regarding the increase of students up to the target year in the second year of high school, especially in technical and professional fields, show the role of the policymaker in guiding students to technical fields. Considering complex urban issues such as migration, marginalization, and the growth and development of settlements, it is suggested that more studies be conducted regarding the design of the conceptual model of urban issues in the direction of locating educational centers in Kerman.
