		<Abstract>thepurpose of this study was the development of a competency based curriculum model for undergraduate course on primary education using field research approach, a stratified random sample including faculty members with relevant expertise, experienced teachers at primary schools, and graduates of the course from universities situated in khorasan, Iran took part in the study . A survey instrument was developed by researcher for data collection. Results indicate that required competenices including, general and specialized khowledge, general  competenices mental ability, and educationl skills, attitudes, and beliefs were found to to be appeooriate by participants.Accordingly a competency based model was developed</Abstract>
